Our impact model
We donate a set portion of each patch sale to a community-based nonprofit supporting the place or cause that patch represents.
When selecting nonprofit partners, our aim is to ensure funds end up with the people best positioned to decide how to positively impact their communities. This means we look for nonprofits that are led by members of the community they serve because surprisingly little is invested in them.
How we donate
You probably noticed that we offer two separate categories of Outpatches: travel and humanitarian
Travel patches benefit nonprofits in the place they represent while humanitarian patches (and our custom patches) benefit nonprofits working in underfunded humanitarian crises. Our donations are always focused on organizations that are locally led.
Travel Nonprofits
We search for community-led efforts to address immediate needs in a way that leads to systems level impact. Think efforts to provide food to the hungry while fostering food systems based in sustainable agriculture.
Humanitarian Nonprofits
Our Feminism patches might benefit women in DR Congo or our Environmental patches might benefit sustainability in Madagascar. We get funds to locally led efforts where they're needed most.
